Maureen R. McGuire, Oil Painting Artist
My first exposure to oil painting was as a young adult. It wasn't until my five sons grew up that I had the opportunity to devote more time to improving my skill. I attended Brush and Easel School of Fine Art, which helped me to rediscover my interest in this medium.
I was a member of the Flushing Art League from 1994-1995.
My work was exhibited at Pen and Brush Gallery in Soho and St. John's University Chung Cheng Art Gallery in which I received Honorable Mention for my painting, SUNLET WINDOW SILL.
In 1991 I joined the Rockaway Artist Alliance and have exhibited my artwork at their different shows throughout the years. I also joined the Douglaston National Art League and have exhibited my work in their shows.
Since 1997 I have taught oil painting lessons at a senior center in Whitestone, Queens.
I have been drawn to fine art and feel my paintings are a reflection of the environment around me i.e., ocean, winter scenes and still life.
My work is available in limited edition Giclee prints, which I exhibit at different venues.
