Penny is mostly a self taught artist. She was born on the South Shore of Long Island.
She now resides in Northport, New York. She graduated from State University at Stony Brook, New York, Empire State College, with a Bachelor of Science and an Associate in Science in Health Care Administration and Medical Technology. She was on the job for 22 years at the Northport Veterans Administration Medical Center.
Getting ready to retire she started painting just 6 years ago. She began like most people saying, I can not really paint, only stick figures. She asked two very successful artist friends for guidance, Marilyn Milano, Boynton Beach, Florida, and Kathy Herzy, West Islip, New York. She enjoys the expressions of oil, acrylic and pastels.
Penny is a Licensed Associate Broker for Prudential Douglas Elliman, Northport, New York since 1982.
She has done several art shows and is now thinking about gallery presentations as well as juried art exhibitions on the island and in Florida. She is a member of the Longboat Key Art Center, Sarasota, Florida.
Her home, ''The New Victorian'' sits atop the hill in Northport and is painted, blue spruce, schools house red and teal. People often ask how she came up with the colors.
It has been featured in The New York Times, Homes Section, Esquire Magazine and Victoria Magazine in 1987. A historical perseveration award was given by the Township of Huntington, New York for design. She owns the copy write. Penny comes from a long line of artistic family members.
